The standard Indiana resident fee applies for couples with at least one Indiana resident. Out-of-state applicants pay a higher fee. After the Ceremony: Returning the Signed License
After your ceremony, the officiant must sign the marriage license and return it to the Gibson County Clerk's office. Indiana law requires the signed license to be filed within 30 days of the ceremony. This is not optional. The requirement comes directly from Indiana Code, which states the form must be filed in the office of the Clerk of the County in which the marriage license was issued within 30 days of the solemnization. If the signed license is not returned in time, it may cause problems with the validity of the official record.
You can return the signed license by mail or in person at the clerk's office at 101 N. Main Street, Suite 9, Princeton, IN 47670. If mailing, use a trackable service to confirm delivery. The clerk's courts page at gibsoncounty-in.gov/clerk/courts has details on the return process. Certified copies of the recorded license cost $5.00 each and can be requested after the license has been filed and recorded.
Note: The signed license must be returned within 30 days of the ceremony date, whether by mail or hand delivery to the Gibson County Clerk.
